Heidi Harner (b. 1970) paints expressively by combining abstraction and realism. She is interested in the interplay and relationships between dogs and their owners. Dogs in particular have always been a huge part of Harner’s family life.

In sharing that relationship, she creates a loose and expressive abstract, or semi-abstract environment for her subjects to help convey the energy and playfulness inherent in that relationship.

Heidi is published in the 2010 Summer edition of “The Cowboy Way,” and the Fall 2006 and Spring 2007 edition of Horses in Art Magazine. She is one of the women featured in GaWaNi Pony Boy’s book, “Of Women and Horses: More Reflections of the Magical Bond,” published by Bowtie Press, 2005.

Exhibitions and collections include the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame, Medora, ND; Ivy Tech State College, Lafayette, IN; Lafayette Community Bank; and Historic Prophetstown, Battle Ground, IN.
