About Julie Buchanan

Julie has worked in the Arts since the early 1980’s when she began studying Arts Administration at the University of Kentucky and after took a job with Cross Gate Gallery. Over the years she has worked for Lexington Musical Theatre, the Headley Whitney Museum, and Collectors Gallery. In 2005 Julie was honored as Director Emeritus and a Lifetime Member of The American Academy of Equine Art after serving in that role for 5 1/2 years. After a move to Versailles, she became co-owner of Raintree Gallery & Framing, from which she retired in 2013. Julie is also one of the founding members of The Art Village and annual Art In The Park event in Versailles. She and her husband John live on the Kentucky River where they grow their own organic food and work towards a sustainable lifestyle.
