Photographs from Cuba by Carlos Gamez de Francisco
February 12 - March 9
Depicting the next generation of Cubans apparently dressed in sumptuous costumes, the models in this series symbolize the relationship of past and present using everyday objects to stage their portraits. The photographs explore the meaning of power and beauty by using re-purposed objects to depict minorities. They are also about expanding the meaning of power and constructing hope…the hope to be, the hope to success, and the hope of being remembered.
Exhibit dates: Tuesday, February 12 – Saturday, March 9, 2019.
