Approaching this body of contemplative work, we immediately become immersed in the quiet simplicity and gentle rhythms of elemental forms and shapes. Using wax, clay and natural pigments, Judith Pointer-Jia, Joe Molinaro and Patricia Baldwin-Seggebruch each reflect inward and strive to connect at a deeper level of consciousness. As educators in the arts, all three know the struggle to remain connected to the physical world while grasping the importance of letting go and allowing deep reflection to be their creative guidance.

Judith Pointer-Jia has been a professor of art and head of the Ceramics department at Centre College since 1998. She received the Kirk Teaching Excellence Award in 2016. Joe Molinaro has been a ceramic artist and professor of art at EKU since 1989 and written numerous articles and books recording 25 years of research in the Amazon. Author and international instructor Patricia Baldwin-Seggebruch is known world-wide for her teaching and impact in the medium of encaustic.  All have received numerous awards and grants for their innovative work and dedication to their craft.

Opening Friday, May 19th from 5-8 pm for GALLERY HOP, then daily 11:00 – 5:30 Tuesday through Saturday. Exhibit runs through July 7th.
